After you submit your online assessment and pay the $45 fee, your answers are immediately queued for review by a registered practitioner.
An AHPRA-registered practitioner reviews your health information, smoking history, and assessment answers. Most assessments are reviewed during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm), and we’ll notify you as soon as your prescription outcome is ready. Submissions outside these hours are reviewed the next business day.
Your practitioner determines what is clinically appropriate for you based on your assessment. If suitable, your outcome is sent directly to your chosen pharmacy.
Your pharmacy contacts you when everything is ready to collect. Your practitioner-reviewed plan can be valid for up to 6 months, with a renewal reminder at 5 months.
What patients ask about pharmacy collection, the assessment, and renewal.
Your pharmacy will typically try multiple times to reach you. If you have selected a local pharmacy and miss their initial contact, call them directly using the contact details in your confirmation email. For interstate patients defaulting to Purples Pharmacy, they will continue trying within 48 hours and arrange delivery once they reach you.
Once your outcome has been sent to a pharmacy, it is handled from that pharmacy. If you need to switch, contact us and we will discuss your options — in some cases your practitioner may need to re-issue to the new pharmacy. To avoid this, please double-check your pharmacy selection during the assessment.
Your practitioner decides what is clinically appropriate based on your smoking history. If it is not working for you, contact us. A practitioner can review your case and adjust your plan. Most patients find their initial plan is appropriate, but adjustments are common as you progress.
No. We Can Quit does not operate on a consultation-and-follow-up model. Your prescription is valid for 6 months from the date issued. We will send a renewal reminder at the 5-month mark so you can complete a brief reassessment if you want to continue. There are no scheduled appointments between assessment and renewal.
One month before your prescription expires, you will receive an email and SMS reminder. To renew, you complete a short update assessment and pay the $45 fee. A practitioner reviews your progress and issues a new 6-month prescription. The renewal is much faster than the original assessment because your details are already on file.
Each country has its own rules on importing nicotine products. Some allow personal-use quantities with a prescription; others ban them entirely. Before travelling, check the destination country's customs and health authority website, and carry a copy of your prescription and original packaging. We cannot provide country-specific legal advice.
Every day you delay costs you money and your health. Start your quit journey now in just 3-5 minutes.
